Life sentence for raping minor girl

A local court today sentenced a man to life imprisonment for raping a 14-year-old girl.

District Mahila Court Judge Thirunavukkarasu sentenced the man to life for raping the girl and also awarded another life sentence for kidnapping her.

The judge also sentenced him to undergo seven years rigorous imprisonment for threatening the girl. All the sentences would run concurrently.

The prosecution case was that Gopalakrishnan (29), a labourer, had abducted the girl and raped her at an isolated place in 2013.
