A Darbhanga court today sentenced 10 persons to life imprisonment for killing two engineers of a private road construction company in Darbhanga district in 2015.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Rupesh Dev also slapped a fine of varying amounts on those 10 persons.

The court had on February 26 held the 10 persons guilty in the double murder case. It had also acquitted four others for want of evidence.

The two engineers, Mukesh Kumar and Brajesh Kumar, of a private firm engaged in road construction were shot dead at the Shivram Chowk on December 26, 2015, for not meeting ransom demand of miscreants.

There were two more accused in the case. One of them died during trial and the other, a minor, is being tried in a juvenile court.
