Lightning claims two lives in Rajasthan

Two persons, including a woman, were killed after being struck by lightning in separate incidents in Jhalawar district which was lashed by unseasonal rains, police said today.

In the first incident, a labourer Gayatribai Gujjar (35) was struck by lightning while she took shelter under a tree yesterday in Jharaniya village of Chipabarode area here, they said.

She died on the spot, they said, adding that another person was injured in the incident and is undergoing treatment.

In another incident, 30-year-old Than Singh, a farmer was struck by lightning while he was working on his field in Gunai village last night, Luv Kumar Tiwari, SHO Dug police station said.
 

He was rushed to hospital where the doctors declared him dead, Tiwari said.

The bodies have been sent for postmortem, police added.

Meanwhile, a report from neighbouring Nawada said

rain-triggered landslide took place near Kakolat tourist place.

There is no report of casaulty in the landslide.
