Lightning strike kills boy

A 12-year-old student died and two of his friends sustained injuries in a lightning strike at Ubka village under Torpa police station area of Khunti district today, police said.

The boys were collecting mango from under a tree when the lightning struck this evening.

Vimal Toppo, a student of std VII died while while Prabhat Surin and Subham Singh, both 14-year-olds, were injured, police said.

The injured were hospitalised and reported to be out of danger.
