Lineman electrocuted in Banihal, J&K

A lineman of the Power Development Department (PDD) was today electrocuted while repairing a high-voltage electric cable here in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said.

Mohammad Saleem Sheikh was killed after he received an electric shock while repairing a high-voltage electric wire at Darshipora village, a police officer said.

The locals took to the streets and protested against the PDD after the incident, he added.

A police team had reached the area and the body will soon be sent to the hospital for a post-mortem, he said, adding that a case had been registered in connection with the incident.
