Students of Forest College and Research Institute at Mettupalayam tonight carried out a 'lit torch' procession inside the campus, as part of their agitation seeking priority in appointment of foresters and rangers, to forestry graduates, which entered the 17th day today.
Students, including some 60 girls, are on agitation inside the campus of the college, which was indefinitely closed from January 27, were indulging in novel type of protests daily to highlight and bring the problem to the government's notice.
Some 50 students--both boys and girls--held a lit torch, made of cotton waste, around 6.30 PM.
Later they squatted on the campus, police said.
