Local bodies, govt must cooperate for development: Mamata

Coordination between local bodies and the government is a must for developing north Bengal, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said today as she started a two-day visit to the region.

On her arrival at Bagdogra airport, the chief minister told reporters that the people of Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar and other districts of north Bengal were always on her mind.

Mamata, who is scheduled to hold a public meeting at Alipurduar district, is expected to spend the night at Suntalekhola in Kalimpong.

On April 1, she will chair an administrative meeting at Dimdima at Madarihat-Birpara in Alipurduar district.

The chief minister will inaugurate a number of projects and lay foundation stones for many development projects.
 

The new administrative building for the Alipuduar district is expected to be inaugurated on the day.

Later, she will attend a public meeting at Ethelbari in Madarihat-Birpara.
