A group of people today put up a blockade on railway tracks to protest against the delay in construction of RUB (railway under bridge) and ROB (railway over bridge) in the Amethi-Pratapgarh section.
The protesters, led by Bharatiya Kisan Union's Amethi district president Pramod Mishra, put up the blockade near Amethi railway station.
Railway services resumed following intervention of SDM Subhash Prajapati and Circle Officer R K Chaturvedi.
Following repeated requests from the residents and efforts by Amethi MP Rahul Gandhi, Rs 2.59 crore was sanctioned months before for the construction of RUB and ROB in Amethi but till the date the work has not started, Mishra said.
