Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who is on an official visit to China, today said that Chinese technology will be considered for Mumbai Trans Harbour Link project, which aims to connect Mumbai and Navi Mumbai across the creek.

"As a result of PM Narendra Modiji's initiative of province to province ties, Shandong-Maharashtra looks forward to economic cooperation," the Chief Minister said.

"Two major areas this economic cooperation agreement will look at - infrastructure investment and sharing Chinese technology for Trans Harbour Link," Fadnavis tweeted, after a meeting with Qingdao city Mayor Zhang Xinqi.

"In Quingdao city of Shandong Province. Had a very good meeting with Mayor Zhang Xinqi followed by a seminar and meetings," Fadnavis said.

The 22-km-long sealink is set to come up between Sewri and Chirle in Navi Mumbai and has been proposed to cut travel time between south Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. It will also facilitate commercial vehicular traffic, directly connecting Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust with Mumbai.
