Lovers commit suicide fearing opposition to inter-caste affair

Two lovers committed suicide by jumping into Yeleru canal in Anakapalle town in the district late last night, fearing that their parents would not approve of their relationship, police said.

The deceased were identified as K Srinivasa Rao (26) and C Durga Lakshmi (18), both working at Brandix India Apparel City at Atchutapuram.

They were afraid of informing the parents about their affair because they belonged to different castes, said inspector G Chandra.

The locals found their bodies this morning.
