Lt Guv Bedi removes red beacon light from hercar

Red beacon lights from Lt Governor Kiran Bedi's official car and other vehicles of her Secretariat were removed today following her direction in tune with the Union Cabinet decision.

Red beacon lights from the vehicle of Bedi and also other vehicles, barring police escort vehicles, were removed in response to the decision of the Union Cabinet, a release from the Lt Governor's office said.

Bedi in a tweet said 'Without waiting for the deadline ofMay 1 from when the Centre's decision will come into force, the red beacon light had been removed today."

She also said within a month of assuming office in June last year she had dispensed with use of the sirens in her's and other vehicles. "Every Indian is a VIP," she said.
