Rapper Macklemore says he freaked out when he discovered his wife, Tricia Davis, was pregnant with their first child.
The 32-year-old "Can't Hold Us" hitmaker feared he was not ready to be a father, but fell in love with their three-month-old daughter, Sloane Ava Simone, when she was born in May, reported Female First.
"It was just like, you know, 'God, I'm not ready for this right now. I am not ready to be a father, Like, I can't even get sober.' And it was one of those, just like, 'Please, like, don't, you know, please don't be pregnant.'
"And I heard tears from the bathroom. I was like, 'Oh my God, I know what those tears mean... It was quickly this, like, wake-up call. I got sober and I got happy again."
The singer said he was overwhelmed with love when he first saw his daughter.
"She's a big baby. She's a 10-pound baby... And I was like, 'This is, this is my child.' It's this unconditional love that happens instantaneously.
