The District Magistrate has sent a report to the Uttar Pradesh government, seeking to replace the Chairman of Khatauli municipality Paras Jain from the post and seize his financial power, officials said today.
During an enquiry, corruption charges were proved against Jain, who is also a BJP leader, of misappropriation of funds. The committee also found Executive Officer A K Rai and Assistant Engineer Moolchand for misappropriation of government funds during development works, the Additional District Magistrate Indermani Tripathi said.
The district magistrate Koshal Raj Sharma has sent its report to the state government and sought to replace Jain from the post and seize his financial power as Chairman.
The step has been taken following complaints filed by the members of Khatauli Nagar.
