Maha Governor pays tribute to Kathak Queen Sitara Devi

Maharashtra Governor C Vidyasagar Rao has expressed condolence on the demise of Kathak legend Sitara Devi.

In a message, the Governor has said: "Sitara Devi was one of the most versatile and accomplished exponents of the Kathak dance in India."

"She dedicated her entire life to the pursuit, propagation and popularisation of the classical dance in India and elsewhere. She was rightly regarded as the 'Kathak Queen'," he said.

"In the passing of Sitara Devi, the nation has lost a great performer, researcher and a guru of Kathak. I pay my respects to her memory," Rao said.
