Senior TV journalist Rahul Mahajan has been appointed the new Editor-in-Chief of Rajya Sabha Television.
Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu today approved the appointment after accepting the recommendation of a five-member Search-cum-Selection Committee headed by Prasar Bharti Chairman A Surya Prakash.
Mahajan was selected among 57 applicants and the Selection Committee interviewed 15 candidates before making its recommendation, an official statement said.
46-year-old Mahajan has 26 years of media experience including 23 years in news channels in various capacities in different organisations. He is currently Consultant Editor, Prasar Bharti.
