The Congress government in Madhya Pradesh will develop Mahakal Temple here on the lines of Kashi Vishwanath, Somnath and Shirdi temples, in Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra respectively, with a Rs 300 crore fund, state Public Works Department Minister Sajjan Singh Verma said on Friday.
Expert teams would visit these temples as part of the plan, the minister told reporters after attending a meeting to discuss all round development of the Mahakaleshwar Temple.
The project will be finalised by September 30 and work will begin soon after, he said.
The meeting was attended by Religious Trust and Endowment Minister PC Sharma and Urban Development and Housing Minister Jaivardhan Singh.
