The Maharajas' Express has joined hands with Amex Cards offering special privileges to its cardholders in an attempt to promote the train in the niche market.

The 23-coach Maharajas' Express, a signature product of the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), currently runs on five routes with choices of 7 Nights/8 Days and 3 Nights/4 Days itineraries.

The itineraries cover destinations like Agra, Jaipur, Ranthambore, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Balasinor, Ajanta, Gwalior, Khajuraho, Varanasi and Lucknow.

Indian nationals booking the Maharajas' Express directly on the train's official website www.The-maharajas.Com using an Amex Centurion or platinum credit card will be allowed one pre-or post-night hotel stay either in Delhi or Mumbai, depending upon the journey they choose.

They will also be offered vouchers worth USD 250 which they need to spend on the train on optional excursions and shopping at the in-house boutique.

The offer is valid for the season 2016-17, according to IRCTC.

The train, which took its inaugural journey in 2010, has state-of-the-art features with in-room temperature control, on-board water filtration plant, spacious cabin sizes, two bar-cum-lounges, two restaurants and an on-board team to serve the guests.
