The Maharashtra Government today approvedGhodazari in Chandrapur district as a new wildlife sanctuary.
Chief MinisterDevendra Fadnavis took the decision at the13th Meeting of Maharashtra State Board for Wildlife in Mumbai.
He also approved various proposals for development works within national parks and wildlife sanctuaries.

The new sanctuary will include about 159 sq km area of Bramhapuri forest.
The area is home to 10 to 15 tigers and 23 leopards. It will createemployment opportunities for 59 nearby villages, a government statement said.
