A four-year-old male tiger was found dead under suspicious condition at Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve's buffer zone's Patrei beat area, a forest official said today.

The carcass of the male tiger appears to be two-day-old, Reserve's Field Director, CH Muralikrishnan told reporters.

The tiger was found dead near Barjhar nullah and senior officials of the department were informed about the incident, the officer said.

After the arrival of forensic team and dog squad, more information would be available on the cause of the death of the big cat, officials said.

It was suspected that the tiger might be poisoned to death but the exact cause will be known after autopsy.
