Man apprehended for damaging idol at UP temple

A 22-year-old man was apprehended for allegedly damaging an idol at an under-construction temple here, police said today.

The incident took place last evening and following demands by villagers, Sonu was apprehended, Station House Officer (SHO), Mansurpur, K P S Chahal said.

The youth entered the under-construction temple and damaged the idol, according to the FIR.

The matter is being probed, the officer said.
