A 45-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly illegally storing around 365 kg of firecrackers in a building in northwest Delhi's Kalyan Vihar area, police said today.

The accused, identified as Mukesh Puri, allegedly possessed no license for the firecrackers, which he had procured in advance to sell off during Diwali, DCP (North West) Vijay Singh, said.

Puri was arrested yesterday after being booked under relevant sections of the Explosives Act, said police.

Around a week ago, a grocery shop owner was arrested for allegedly storing around 1,310 kg of firecrackers, without any license, for sale during Dussehra and further in Diwali, a police official said.

The firecrackers were recovered after a raid at a residence inhabited by a family of ten, including five children, in northwest Delhi's Adarsh Nagar area, police added.
