Man arrested for sexually abusing girl

A 35-year-old labourer was arrested today on charges of sexually abusing a six-year-old girl, police said.

Police said Valapadi took the girl to an isolated place when she was standing near a riverbed here and sexually abused her. When she made loud cries, public caught hold of him and handed over to police.

A case under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012 was registered against him, police said.
