One person has been arrested for allegedly possessing illegal arms here, police said today.
Simaranpal Singh alias Romi, a resident of Rawalpindi village in the district, was arrested by a patrol team last night, Phagwara SP Jasbir Singh Rai said, adding a .32 pistol and three live cartridges were seized from him.
He has been booked under relevant sections of the Arms Act, the SP said.
Singh was also wanted in cases of kidnapping and rioting.
