A 32-year-old woman was allegedly attacked with acid by her husband over dowry issue in Mohiddipur village here, police said today.
The victim was being harassed for dowry by her husband Javed Akhtar, and yesterday night after a severe beating he threw acid on her, according to an FIR filed by her father.
Akhtar had been demanding a car and other household items and had been beating her over it, he told police.
A case, under sections 523, 504, 326 and 498 A, has been registered against eight persons, including the husband and his family members, and investigations are on, police said, adding the woman has been hospitalised.
