Man attempts suicide in Punjab

A 65-year-old man today attempted to commit suicide in front of the office of Block Development and Panchayat Officer (BDPO) at Kot Ise Khan here following a land dispute with a villager, police said.

Kartar Singh sprinkled diesel on his body and st himself on fire, police said adding, that he received over 85 per cent burn injuries.

He has been hospitalised, police said.

He had some land dispute with Lachaman Singh of the same village, police said.

A case has been registered and investigation is on.
