Man battered to death

A man was beaten to death and his brother seriously injured allegedly by a villager at Ganeshsthan in the district today, police said.

Amaresh Yadav (32) and his brother Manoranjan Yadav were severely beaten up with a baton by Lakhendra Yadav as the two brothers had scolded him for abusive behaviour in a drunken condition last night.

The 32-year-old man died on the spot, while his brother was badly injured and hospitalised, police said.

An FIR was lodged against the assailant and raids were being carried out to arrest him, they added.
