A 37-year-old man was crushed to death by a speeding car, whose driver did not stop and dragged the man for about 75 metres, on Shamnath Marg in north Delhi.

Deen Dayal, a resident of Majnu Ka Tila area, was returning home on his bike around 2 am last night when the car, driven by one Angad Singh Dubey, hit him.

"Angad, who was driving the vehicle under the influence of alcohol, tried to flee the spot, but locals managed to nab him," said a police officer.

According to a witness, instead of stopping the car after hitting Dayal's bike, Angad tried to flee the spot with Dayal trapped in the car's wheel for about 75 metres, which resulted in the car catching fire.
