A 45-year-old man was today electrocuted to death after he came in contact with a live wire allegedly laid by poachers to kill animals in Ganjam district today, police said.
Following the incident, angry villagers blocked Buguda-Nayagarh road for several hours with the victim's body. They demanded that the state government pay compensation to the family of the deceased man.
Police said wire and some other materials fitted to electrocute wild animals were seized and efforts are on to identify who were involved in the case.
