Man drowns in Dal Lake

A 45-year-old man drowned after he accidentally fell in the Dal Lake here today, police sources said.

Manzoor Ahmad Sheikh, a resident of New Colony locality of Batamaloo, accidentally fell in the lake near Nehru Park this morning, the sources said.

They said the river police immediately swung into action and rescued him in a "critical condition".

Sheikh was rushed to a hospital, where he was declared brought dead, the sources added.
