Man drowns in Kalvarayan waterfalls pond

A swim in a pond beneath a waterfalls in the Kalvarayan hill ranges near Kallakurichi turned tragic for a 25-year old man when he drowned in it, police said today.

"His body was fished out today. The victim went missing yesterday after he went for a swim in the pond beneath the Mankombbu waterfalls in Kalvarayan hill ranges," a police official of Kariyalur Police Station told PTI.

The body has been sent for autopsy to a government hospital.

The victim, Arun a resident of Thiruvannamalai went to the hill ranges to spend the weekend alongwith his friend.

After a bath in the waterfalls, alongwith his friend he tried to spend some time swimming in the pond. However, he drowned, police added.
