Man fatally hit by train while clicking selfie

A 25-year-old youth lost his life when he was hit by a train while clicking a selfie on his mobile phone standing on a railway track, police said today.

The incident took place yesterday near Karmali station, about 10km from here.

"Sachin Kundaikar, who was standing on a railway track at Daoji village, was killed when he was hit by a speeding train," Konkan Railway Police Inspector Harish Madkaikar told reporters.

He said the youth was clicking his selfie when train hit him. Kundaikar was accompanied by a friend.

The youth was immediately rushed to Goa Medical College and Hospital where he was declared brought dead, the Inspector said.
