A man fled after allegedly trying to rape a 19-year-old woman, who was rescued by the neighbours after she raised an alarm, police said today.
The incident happened yesterday at Kukra village in the district.
According to a complaint filed by the girl's father, the man -- Arvind Kumar -- allegedly entered their house, when other family members were not present, and tried to rape her.
But she resisted and raised an alarm which alerted the neighbours who rushed in to rescue her.
A case has been registered against the accused, who is absconding, the police said.
