Man gets capital punishment for brutal murder

A local court has sentenced a man to death for a brutal murder over a land dispute three years ago in Palamau district.

The Additional District & Sessions Judge, Zaffar Imam, yesterday awarded capital punishment to Bangali Yadav for chopping to death Krishna Yadav with an axe after dragging him out of his house at Tarudih village in June 2009.

The victim's mother had an filed FIR against Bangali Yadav and three others. The rest were absconding.

Additional Public Prosecutor Ajay Pandey told reporters that the victim was the only son of his parents and his father died of shock thereafter.
