Man gets death sentence for killing a minor

A man was today awarded the capital punishment by a court here in connection with a 2013 murder case of a 10-year-old girl.

Firoz, a resident of Nisar Jai area here, was convicted by Additional District Judge Gopal Upadhyaya for killing the minor in August 2013.

Afreen was hacked to death following which her father had registered a case against Firoz, government counsel Sunil Singh said.

A fine of Rs 20,000 has also been slapped on Firoz.
