Man gets life term for supplying fake currency

A man has been sentenced to life term by a local court here today for supplying fake currency notes.

Additional District and Session Judge Ramesh Chand Diwaker has also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on the accused after holding him guilty under various sections of IPC.

According to the prosecution, the accused Anis alias Lambu was arrested for supplying counterfeit notes on Panipat-Kairane highway in Shamli district on December 18, 2001.

Police had recovered fake currency notes with a face value of Rs 11,600 from his possession, he said.
