Man hacks his brother to death

A man allegedly hacked his brother to death today in a dispute over their family trade of firewood at Maligachi in Howrah district.

The police said Arun Pramanik hacked his brother Shrikanta Pramanik (45) to death by a sharp weapon at Maligachi during a dispute over the felling of a tree for firewood.

Shrikanta was declared brought dead when he was rushed to Uluberia hospital.

The accused Arun Pramanik is absconding, the police said.
