A man was arrested today for allegedly firing in air during a marriage ceremony held last month in Old City area, police said.
Maqsood Ali, who works with a private cable company, had fired six rounds with a .32 revolver along with his friend Salahuddin on the intervening night of September 21 and 22 at the lawn of a function hall, allegedly under inebriated condition.
"We got an information on the incident yesterday and during course of the investigation we caught Ali, who has the license of the weapon. Hunt is on to nab Salahuddin, who is absconding," a police official attached to Kulsumpura police station said.
A case has been registered under section 336 (act endangering life or personal safety of others) of IPC and relevant provisions of Arms Act. Further investigation is on.
