Man held for looting Rs 1 lakh from businessman

A man was beaten up and later handed over to police for trying to snatch Rs 1 lakh in Jhargram town in West Midnapore district today.

Police said the motor cycle used by the accused has been impounded.

The accused had snatched the bag as a local businessman came out of a bank with the cash but was intercepted and beaten up by chasing locals who then handed him over to the police.
