A 49-year-old man from Kalyan taluka in the district was arrested for allegedly murdering his 25-year-old sister by strangulating her in the wee hours today, police said .
Rajaram Lone, a resident of Khadavli, used to quarrel frequently with Reshma Bhagar who insisted on staying with him despite being married, said inspector Samadhan Nagre of Kalyan taluka police station.
The duo had a heated argument over the issue at around 5:30 AM, following which Lone allegedly strangulated her with a nylon rope, he said.
Lone later approached police and apprised them about the incident, following which he was arrested.
