Man held for raping five-year-old girl

A middle-aged man was today arrested for allegedly raping a five-year-old girl in Mahabubnagar district of Andhra Pradesh in an "inebriated" condition, police said.

The accused B Kurumaiah lured the neighbourhood girl under the pretext of showing her a film on television last evening and allegedly raped her, a police officer said quoting a complaint lodged by the victim's mother.

Kurumaiah was arrested and the girl sent for medical tests, he said, adding further investigations are on.
