Man held on rape charge

The police today

arrested a 25-year-old man on the charge of raping a teenaged girl at Khola Khola village under Buguda police station in Ganjam district.

The police said Sanjay Das, the father of a child, allegedly raped the 16-year-old girl while she was going to the village pond for bathing on Monday.

Medical test of both-the accused person and victim was conducted.

Das had been arrested earlier in a dowry torture case. His wife had left him some months ago, the police said.
