Man impersonating as DSP held in Jammu

A man impersonating as Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) was arrested from University of Jammu, where he was allegedly harassing the staff, police said today.

A complaint was received yesterday from the Department of Student's Welfare (DSW) stating that a man identified as Narinder Kumar, a resident of Kishtwar, was allegedly threatening the university staff by impersonating as DSP, a police officer said.

Acting on the complaint, a police team from the Nehru Market police station arrested the accused from the university campus yesterday, he said.

A case under various sections has been registered against the accused at the Gandhi Nagar Police Station and an investigation has been initiated, he added.
