Man killed by lightning

A 57-year old man was killed by

lightning at an interior village in Imphal West district of Manipur, official sources said today.

Sources said Chaphamayum Mangi, the owner of a roadside hotel, was struck by the lightning yesterday while he was coming home along with wife at Loitang Khullen area, about 30 km north of here.

He was immediately taken to the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences here but died on way, sources said adding a portions of the road was also damaged by the lightning.
