Man kills 1.5-month-old daughter

A 28-year-old man was arrested here today on the charge of killing his 1.5-month-old daughter for, what he said, failing to look her after due to financial constraints, the police said.

Amar Biswas, who has another 1.5-year-old daughter, killed the child by hitting her on the floor at Brace Bridge under Taratala police station in the city.

Biswas's wife reported that matter to the police and he was arrested.

During interrogation, Biswas, a rickshaw-puller, said during interrogation that he killed the child as he was under financial stress and would not look after her. The police said.

Biswas was married four years ago.
