Man kills mother using wooden plank in Mumbai

A 37-year-old man killed his 67-year-old mother by hitting her with a wooden plank, used for washing clothes, in Dadar here today, police said.

The incident took place around 7 PM when the accused Tejas Sanghvi, hit his mother Rekha at their house in Shivaji Park area in Dadar, Central Mumbai, a senior police officer said.

The wooden plank, which he used to commit the crime, has been seized, he said.

A case under relevant sections of the IPC has been registered at Shivaji Park police station, police said, adding Tejas has been detained and investigations are underway.
