A man allegedly killed his newborn girl apparently upset over not having a boy in Laksar area of Haridwar district here, with police initiating a probe into the matter.
"After reports about the incident on October 17, a team of officials has been sent to Habibpur Kundi village to investigate the case and establish its authenticity," circle officer Manoj Katya said.
Sources said the man expected his third baby to be a boy, but upset over it being a baby girl he reportedly smacked the newborn to death at this house on October 17.
