Man kills sister in Pratapgarh

In a suspected honour killing case, a 27-year-old woman was allegedly killed by her brother here, police said Thursday.

ASP Purnendu Singh said Anita Devi had an affair with one Jitendra Kumar alias Munna. Their relationship was opposed by the woman's brother Ashok, the ASP added.

Upon seeing Devi and Munna together on Wednesday, Ashok attacked them with a stick. Both were seriously injured and were rushed to the hospital, where Anita died during treatment, the official added.

An FIR was registered in this connection and probe is going on. The accused is absconding.
