Man rapes minor on false pretext of marriage

A 17-year-old minor girl was allegedly raped on pretext of marriage by a youth in Shiprapath area, police said today.

Accused Anil Kumar Parwani (21) on pretext of marrying the victim raped her, who later got pregnant. He also kept his relationship a secret and blackmailed the girl using illicit video clippings, police said.

The girl yesterday filed a complaint against the youth.

Parwani, who was yesterday booked under relevant sections of the IPC, is absconding, they said.
