Man sentenced for smuggling dry ganja

A local court has sentenced a 38-year-old man to 10 years simple imprisonment for smuggling dry ganja in 2015.

First Additional District and Session Judge N Narasinga Rao yesterday also slapped a fine of Rs one lakh on the convict - Andavarapu Appa Rao.

Appa Rao, resident of Devarapalle area here was convicted under section 20 (B) of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

Rao, who ran a tea-stall, was arrested by Devarapalle Police for smuggling around 40 kgs dry ganja in 2015.
