Man sentenced to 13 yrs for abetting wife's suicide

A man was today sentenced to 13 years imprisonment by a court here for abetting his 23-year old wife to commit suicide in 2009.

Mahila Court Judge Vijayakumari also imposed a fine of Rs 3,000 on Palaniswamy, a labourer from Valapadi in the district.

Unable bear his harassement, Palaniswamy's wife Saritha had set herself ablaze on May 24, 2009.
